Amanda Zimmerman, CNM
Even as a child, Amanda felt drawn to the nursing profession. Her obstetrics class in nursing school cemented her desire to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Originally from Illinois, Amanda relocated to Atlanta to attend graduate school at Emory University, where she graduated in 2015.
Amanda has experience in both high- and low-risk pregnancy and birth, including vaginal twin deliveries, water birth, and First Assist for Cesarean deliveries. Pregnancy and childbirth are precious events, and Amanda considers herself blessed to be able to take part in these moments. In addition, she enjoys continued care for patients in the postpartum period and beyond with general female reproductive care. She believes in shared decision making and informed consent. Having won the coveted Daisy Award for exemplary patient care and with recurrent mentions on Atlanta Parent Magazine’s annual “Top OB Providers” list, Amanda is known for the excellent care of her patients and desires that all achieve optimal health and wellness.
Amanda is happily married and has one son, Xavier. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, reading, cooking, and spending time with friends. She also serves on the board of the Georgia Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and is a part of the Legislative Committee’s leadership team.
